The Best Social Cycling Clubs in London: 2024 Guide

1. Chain Gang Cyclists

London’s friendliest cycling club the Chain Gang Cyclists (CGC) was founded during Quarantine 2020 by Yannick and his friends developed a passion for cycling as a way to keep fit and get much needed headspace during phase 1 lockdown. As restrictions eased several friends who had developed the same love for the tarmac grew together to form a bike chain, which has fast turned into a weekly occurrence of rides across London and surrounding areas.

Meeting Details: CGC meet weekly on Tuesdays for hot laps at Regents Park, Fridays mornings for chatty laps at Regents Park followed by coffee at Rapha. They also have monthly brunch rides for new cyclists to join at Richmond Park.

2. 10 Ironwomen

Looking for an inclusive female only cycle or Triathlon club in London, look no further than the 10IronWomen group. They are striving for a 50/50 split in ironman attendance, they exist mainly to provide a community for women to meet like-minded new friends and training buddies, people who will inspire them to believe that they can do any event they want to, no matter the distance.

3. Islington Cycling Club

Islington Cycling Club is a friendly and diverse North London cycling club. It was founded in 2013 and has quickly attracted over 800 members. They offer a wide range of rides, including numerous weekly club rides, training rides, club and open events, and cycling trips.

4. PureSport Cycle Club

A newer cycle club for everyone, movement for the mind and body whilst meeting like minded friends.

Meeting Details:

Thursday morning ride every week at Regents Park, 6:45am meet 7am start. Coffee after for those who have time to hang around. They have three speed groups, Fast group⁠ (⁠+28kph), Sexy Pace ⁠(26-28kph), no Drop (⁠24-26kph) they also meet on weekends and have a large whatsapp group to join where members organise their own rides. 5. Moloko

Founded by Alex and Paul Moloko is a friendly cycle and run community based in Mortlake, west London. The most welcoming community in London that offer weekly rides in the city, weekends escapes and group retreats across Europe. Looking to meet new friends and explore new places then check out Moloko. Want to try out a gravel bike or only in the city for a weekend and new to rent a bike? Moloko also offer bike rental services and can help you plan out routes. Alex also runs a weekly 5k run from their space in Mortlake along the river and finishing up with a coffee if you want some miles off the bike.

6. London Dynamo 

Among the UK’s top cycling clubs London Dynamo is rooted in a rich heritage of road racing. They encourage & empower members to continually enhance their riding abilities, whether they are beginners, aspiring riders, competitive athletes, or anything in between. This club is for the faster riders looking to develop their skills and looking for other cyclists to ride with. There is a yearly membership fee up to £75 and you will be expected to ride in their kit (manufactured by LeCol) once you join up.
